Submitted by User 385 on

Dear Z136 Standards Development Committee (SDC),

I am pleased to inform you that with the submission of the recently revised Procedures for the Development of Z136 American National Standards, ANSI’s ExSC Audit Subcommittee has closed the latest audit of the LIA on July 26, 2024. As a result, LIA and our Procedures have both been reaccredited by ANSI.

The proposed revisions to the Procedures were approved by the Z136 SDC on June 28th, 2024 after an initial ballot and recirculation.

See below for a summary of the ballot results. The tally by interest category has been posted to the Z136 website documents page.

Initial Ballot for the Approval of Z136 Procedures – May 2024

Of 83 possible ballots, 65 were ballots received on the vote to approve revisions to the Z136 SDC Procedures; 58 were affirmative, 4 were negative, and 3 were abstentions. Less abstentions, the original proposal received 94% approval (58 of 62).

Recirculation Ballot for the Approval of Z136 Procedures – June 2024

Of 83 possible ballots, 70 were ballots received on the vote to approve revisions to the Z136 SDC Procedures; 64 were affirmative, 4 were negative, and 2 were abstentions. Less abstentions, the final ballot received 94% approval (64 of 68).

NOTE – Per Z136 procedures (Section 7.7.2), a majority of the full Committee must respond to a ballot for it to be considered valid, and two-thirds of the responses (excluding abstentions) must be affirmative for approval. If there are any unresolved negative comments or substantive changes, a recirculation ballot is required. This recirculation ballot is intended to allow opportunities for the Consensus Body Balloting Group (CBBG) to re-affirm or change their previous ballot based upon review of unresolved negative comments and any substantive changes that were made following the initial ballot.
